There are actually 2 housing options on the property. The "Cons" in the review from Andy (above) are actually from the man camp on the facility, not Alexander Lodge.

Clean and comfortable beds. Roomy showers.

As for the Alexander Lodge, I would expect much the same level of service and cleanliness, for the Goliath staff and management on site have always struck me as being very conscientious and helpful. While the facility is not perfect in every way, it IS a pleasant surprise for this housing-short region and I certainly would not hesitate to recommend it.

Alexander Lodge has private bathrooms and a full kitchen with microwave. It also has access to the highly rated restaurant. I would definitely stay there again.

WiFi sucks though. Over all... 4.5\5

Television and internet are via satellite with predictable results. I have often had to rely on my mobile hotspot app via Verizon to go on the internet, which is frequently down or simply slower than the dial-up modems of days long past. Nice perks are the theatres (two), combination tv/pool table room (there are two microwaves located here), internet room (several computers) and gym.

Pros: Facility is clean. Rooms are clean. Recreational room. Awesome theater room although the satellite wasn't working I was able to plug in a usb and watch a movie on extremely comfy chairs. Free laundry must use your own detergent. Had satellite tv in my room but the tv was kinda small. $55 special rate compared to $75+ around the area. Shower & bathrooms are clean.

I have resided for the past 3+ months in the man-camp portion of this Goliath facility, not in Alexander Lodge, so please judge accordingly. This is my first experience in a man-camp while waiting for one of my company's apartments to open in Watford City but I've been pleasantly surprised. The staff have always been helpful and I cannot say enough good things about the members of housekeeping. In such a dusty/muddy environment (the parking areas are scoria, which is always either mud or dust, but that is the norm in this region anywhere one goes), the cleaning is non-stop. Each of the three hallways has 49 rooms with common showers (five), bathroom (again, five stalls), and washer/dryers. Rooms are very basic and small but include a bed, small writing desk and a small closet with a television on top. Heating controls are within the rooms (strip heater beneath the desk) and air conditioning is ducted (temperatures seem to vary from room to room, some cold, some hot). I keep a small coffee maker in the room but larger appliances like microwaves/refrigerators are discouraged due to their power/amperage requirements. Housekeeping bends over backwards to keep both the rooms and the common areas (bathrooms/showers) clean (slip-on "booties" are available at exterior doors to cut down on mud and dust being tracked in). I have nothing but good things to say about the cleanliness.

Very run down. No upkeep

Cons: I can only judge for lunch but on a Saturday it was less than impressive. Not much options. And for $11 including drinks its not worth it for the quality served. Roads & parkinf are not done yet so must park car in muddy dirty spots. No microwave in room. Rooms are small. Shower room and bathroom shared by entire hall but there are plenty of showers available. This is Basically a man camp.

I have also stayed at Alexander Lodge. The Lodge is probably the finest accommodations in the Bakken. My experience was superb. The service and the staff are incredible.

The Bakken Buffet is on the pricey side (set aside most of a $20 bill) but the food has always been quite good, with a well-stocked and fresh salad bar, several selections of entrees and sides and delicious desserts. Dinner is the only time I've eaten at The Bakken Buffet thus far and I do not do so every night, usually reserving it for occasions when I want a big meal and "real" food. Recently, a "Guest Loyalty Rewards" card has been implemented that is punched for each meal purchase, rewarding the guest with the 11th meal free. The food seasoning is sometimes unusual but that is often the result of my Southern tastes and truly depends upon which entrée I eat.
